11:30-13:00 | Session 1. Security: domain name vs
content SEE
The Security: Domain Name vs Content session will be
dedicated to working
with domains used for unlawful purposes. Domain management has always been
perceived as an
exclusively technical task, and websites were blocked only by court decisions
or law enforcement
agencies. In recent years, however, more people say that those in the domain
name industry can no
longer stay away from evaluating their content. At the TLDCON’s Security:
Domain Name vs Content
session, we will discuss how this problem is solved in different countries and
how people are
combating infringing websites today. The participants, the list of which
includes experts from
European and CIS states’ registries, international organizations and
information security experts,
will also discuss modern methods for data analysis and forecasting that allow
predicting what the
domain will be used for even before it is used.

16:30-18:00 | Session 3. Second wind of ccTLDs SEE
The Second Wind of ccTLDs session will be dedicated to
the current
activities of national registries. National top level domains had been in a
privileged position on
their countries’ markets for a long time; everything changed a couple of years
ago after the
launch of a new program on new top level domains. The competition increased
sharply, and national
registries had to review their roles on the market and the ways they interact
with their users.
During the session, registry representatives will discuss the actions to be
taken to earn back the
buyers’ trust, the possibilities of gaining back the privileged position and
the role of national
domain zones in the era of domain abundance.
